On a beautiful fall weekend in mid-October, WCSART once again provided support for the Adaptive Climber’s Festival at Muir Valley for three days. Friday started off early, with team members transporting participants to climbing crags, utilizing the team’s UTV. We are always inspired by these enabled climbers’ abilities and determination to scale walls and all manner of challenges.
While on scene on the first day, WCSART responded to an incident unrelated to the festival. A climber had suffered a shoulder dislocation from indirect impact and required medical attention. Four team members (who are also Wilderness First Responders) responded to the climber and treated his injured shoulder. We are happy to report he was doing fine after the treatment and was anxious to get back on the rocks.
