At about 7 p.m. on March 25, WCSART received a 911 call for an injured climber who fell at the Muir Valley Nature Preserve while ascending Psyberpunk (5.11b) at the Inner Sanctum Wall.
The climber took a routine leader fall near the top of the route, initially falling safely but the rope moved behind his leg as he descended. As the rope caught the fall, this position inverted him, causing his back to impact the wall.
After WCSART arrived, a team medic evaluated the patient, the team packaged him and carried him out. Breathitt-Wolfe EMS then transported the patient to an awaiting helicopter, and he was flown to a nearby hospital for definitive medical care. We wish the climber a speedy recovery.
