Hiker carried off Rock Bridge Trail

On late afternoon March 22, WCSART received a 911 call for a 72-year-old hiker needing assistance and unable to walk out from the Rock Bridge Trail.

The team located him and our medical team completed a full assessment before packaging him in a Stokes Basket, then carried him back to the trailhead.

He was transferred to an ambulance from Breathitt-Wolfe EMS, which transported him to definitive care. Thanks to all the team members who came out and participated in the successful rescue.
