In the early afternoon of March 23, WCSART received a 911 call for a female hiker who sustained a leg injury on Rock Bridge while hiking with her husband and daughter. Nine team members answered the call and hiked to her location.
A team EMT assessed the patient, determining that she had sustained a knee injury and needed to be carried out.

The team packaged her into the Stokes Basket on top of Rock Bridge, got her down to the trail and then carried her three-fourths of a mile to the trailhead. There, she was placed into the family’s personal vehicle for transportation to a hospital for definitive care.
We thank all those who came out and wish her a speedy recovery!
