Team members braved brutal June heat to complete multiple ropes and swift water training sessions as part of our ongoing work to be ready for all varieties of rescue emergencies. A group trained despite blistering heat at Muir Valley to assemble anchors and complicated rope systems to practice steep angle cliff raises and lowers of a Sked basket, and four team members completed the swift water flood rescue class taught by Floyd County Emergency & Rescue Squad.

We also had two weekends of technical ropes training with Kentucky Emergency Management and several other agencies. Finally, two team members joined our friends from RedSTAR Wilderness EMS and Lexington Fire for some cool night time helicopter hoist training with the Kentucky State Police.
