Team teaches students Basic Search & Rescue

For three days in late March, Wolfe County Search & Rescue hosted a realistic Basic Search and Rescue course for more than 20 participants from Bath, Estill, Jefferson, Powell and Wolfe counties, along with a Natural Bridge park ranger and a wilderness EMS RedSTAR member.

Instructors led hands-on training in navigation, search tactics, clue awareness, survival skills, radio communication and patient packaging, including a full night-time search exercise that put everything into practice.

After the class, several class graduates who are joining WCSART applied their training in the field by taking part in real missions at Rock Bridge.

Thank you to every student who committed their time and effort, and a huge shout‑out to our instructors for their hard work that made this course possible. We are excited about our new team members joining our life-saving mission. Welcome!
