FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Wolfe County, KY — Wolfe County Search and Rescue is proud to announce that $5 million in federal funding was awarded Feb. 3 to support the construction and development of a new Wolfe County Search & Rescue Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
●The new EOC will be located in the Pine Ridge Industrial Park in Wolfe County with direct access to the Mountain Parkway and will be minutes away from the Red River Gorge, but it is too early in the funding process to know when it will be built at this time
●This investment will feature advanced communication systems and permanent training space that will strengthen our response capabilities, improve agency coordination during disasters and enhance the safety of Wolfe County and surrounding communities
● The new EOC will have a few sleeping quarters should those be needed for trainings or rescues, and it will enable us to store equipment in one place instead of at team member homes and in a variety buildings across the county.
● WCSART especially wants to thank Congressman Hal Rogers for his steadfast support and belief in our mission to save lives in Wolfe County, the greater Red River Gorge and across the state.
●Congressman Rogers’ support was instrumental in securing this funding, reflecting his continued commitment to public safety and to the people of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
●Finally, we strongly believe this investment underscores the importance of preparedness, collaboration, and unwavering dedication to public service throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
