Climber rescued at Muir’s Momma Cindy

As spring hiking continued to increase activity, WCSART received a 911 call on April 2 for an injured climber at the Muir Valley Nature Preserve. The female climber was at the Great Wall on a route called “Momma Cindy” (5.11a). She took a leader fall from the 3rd bolt and had a hard whipper into the cliff face resulting in bi-lateral leg injuries. It’s worth noting the climber was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

A team member Paramedic and EMT assessed the climber, splinted her injuries and the team carried her out to the trail head where she was transported to the parking area. Her partner then transported her to definitive care. Team members cleared the scene at 5:00 p.m..

We wish her a speedy recovery.
