Wolfe County Search & Rescue’s dive team and supporting team members met at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 8 and worked through mid-afternoon conducting a detailed search of Wolfe Lake at the request of the Wolfe County and Lee County Sheriff Departments.
The departments asked WCSART to look for evidence or anything that might provide information about what happened to Jacob Fox, a young veteran from Lee County, who has been missing since 2023.
This search was requested after a set of dog tags bearing Jacob’s name was recently recovered from the lake. WCSART thoroughly searched the lake bottom in the vicinity of where the tags were found for anything that might provide direction in this case. Although the team did discover and remove a variety of items, none of the material had any apparent connection to the case.
Our hearts go out to the Fox family, who have been seeking answers about what happened to Jacob for a long time.
