Wolfe County Search & Rescue was called to Miller Ridge in Wolfe County after a dog fell off a 65-foot cliff and became stranded on a narrow ledge nearly 35 feet below.
The dog had been missing four days before his owner finally heard faint barks coming from the cliffside and called for help. The team responded and conducted a high-angle rope rescue operation to safely reach the anxious pup.

After carefully securing the dog, rescuers brought him back to the top where he was reunited with his relieved and grateful owner. Thankfully, this story had a happy ending.
A huge thank you to our dedicated volunteers who once again put their training and skills to work to make a difference—this time for one very grateful four-legged friend.
Every life matters, and we’re thankful this one made it home
